I don't think Microsoft has enough products and the casual appeal to pull this off.The Zune hasn't done very well in the MP3 market,and the Xbox 360 does not have much casual appeal,so I really don't see what Microsoft can showcase that will attract passer-bys.
If they have Microsoft surface on display,maybe that will help keep the stores alive,but unlike Apple,Microsoft don't release new products at the start of each year,so I don't see how the stores can stay open for years and...
Before UT3 released for Ps3,a full year after GeOW,he said it looked better than Gears Of War.Before UT3 releases on 360,a full 6 months+ after the Ps3 release,he says it looks better than UT3 on Ps3.
The conclusion?More dev time spent on a game=Better results.The one reason I won't be buying UT3 on 360,even with the exclusive maps,is the absence of Mods.Having the option to play as Samus Aran against Master Chief on a COD4 map,is too much fun to miss out on IMO.
